Kid’s College Introduces
STRIDE™ Adaptive Technology

How Does Kid’s College Adaptive Technology Assist Teachers With Differentiated Instruction?

1. Assessment. Kid’s College provides a state-aligned assessment, automatically “grades” the assessment, modifies the curriculum based on the results, and then presents a new assessment at the target level for the student.
2. Data Reports. Kid’s College Executive Reports take the guesswork out of diagnosing skills gaps for each student.
3. Scaffolding. Kid’s College automatically scaffolds the curriculum to support students. Teachers no longer need to spend extra time locating below-grade-level material for struggling students.
4. Planning. Kid’s College reports save hours of time that would be spent planning an individualized curriculum for each student, or for small and large groups.
5. Time on Task. Kid’s College ensures every minute in the computer lab is spent making gains for the student.

Not All Students Are Alike

Every year, a group of diverse students enters the classroom with varying foundational skills, readiness and learning preferences. They will be expected to master a standardized set of skills by the end of the year, but they learn at different paces, and many need to bridge the skills gaps they carry from previous grade levels.

Differentiated Instruction is a teaching model that requires teachers to be flexible in their approach and adjust curriculum according to the individual needs of diverse students, rather than expecting students to modify themselves for the curriculum.

The intent of Differentiated Instruction is to maximize each student’s growth and individual success. But because classroom teaching is a blend of whole-class, group and individual instruction, teachers have only a limited amount of time to focus on differentiating instruction.
Kid’s College Adaptive Technology Automatically Differentiates Instruction For Teachers

Kid’s College has simplified and automated the process of Differentiating Instruction for teachers.

Kid’s College virtual Math & Reading curriculum is enhanced by one-of-a-kind STRIDE™ Adaptive Technology, which automatically differentiates instruction for each individual student while they are working in the Kid’s College program.

Kid’s College Adaptive Technology meets each student where he or she is, deciphers their learning profile
by diagnosing strengths and skills gaps, and then presents the student with practice curriculum that is appropriate and relevant to their particular level of ability.

As a student continues to practice skill sets in Kid’s College, the Adaptive Technology uses a complex algorithm to automatically prompt curriculum to scaffold up or down to accelerate or remediate the student accordingly. Along the way, Kid’s College tracks each student’s progression or regression, generating a valuable suite of data reports that are automatically emailed to teachers and customized instructional workbooks which can be downloaded and printed for extra skills practice.

Sample Student STRIDE Report
This sample STRIDE report shows a student struggling with Literature Skills at the 5th grade level. STRIDE Adaptive Technology took the student back to the foundational skills she missed in 2nd Grade. Within a month, she mastered these skills and progressed to working at the 3rd grade level, then on to 4th and 5th grade levels.
