What is Browsealoud?
Browsealoud is a free program for Kid’s College customers.  The Browsealoud tool reads aloud the words on a website, highlighting each word as it is read aloud. This is a great tool for assisting new readers, ESL students and readers who have difficulty seeing text on a webpage.

PLEASE NOTE: On a PC, Browsealoud works with Internet Explorer versions 6.0 to 8.0, and with Mozilla Firefox to version 3.5.7. On a Mac, Browsealoud works with Safari 3.0 and later.

How do I get a Browsealoud reader?
Click here or on any of the Browsealoud images on the Kid’s College website in order to download a free Browsealoud reader. Read the Browsealoud Customer Support Documentation for instructions as you proceed.

How does Browsealoud work?
As you move your cursor over words on a webpage, they are spoken out loud. If preferred, you may select the continuous option, which allows the entire contents of the webpage to be read without having to move your mouse over every sentence. Browsealoud can be turned on/off by a simple click of the Ctrl key. The voice, pitch and speed of the Browsealoud reader are also customizable by the user to suit their needs. Browsealoud is free to download and use. Refer to the Browsealoud Customer Support Documentation for help using and customizing Browsealoud.
