The STAR Mentors program offers professional/collegiate athlete mentoring that focuses on impacting your at-risk and disengaged students: improving their behavior and motivation, and steering them in the right direction to become all-around better students and citizens.
STAR Mentors is designed to be integrated with the STAR Sportsmanship and Kid’s College online curriculum, character education and sports video games to create a unique, engaging and effective solution.
STAR Mentors solutions are customized on a case-by-case basis and may include one or more of the following:
• In-house sportsmanship assemblies or workshops by professional/collegiate athletes
• Online, interactive blogs by professional/collegiate athletes
• Live video conferencing in the classroom
• STAR jerseys, patches, helmet stickers, posters and other customized gear.

In our student mentoring sessions, former pro quarterback Tony Banks poses the following question to full assemblies of students. ‘How many of you only come to school so you can play sports?’ On average, an overwhelming 75% of the students raise their hands.
This proves that sports and games are successful in motivating students of today’s digital generation, especially at-risk and disengaged students.
Our STAR Mentors professional/collegiate athletes have overcome obstacles and experienced personal motivation and success through their involvement in sports.
