In our student mentoring sessions, former pro quarterback Tony Banks poses the following question to full assemblies of students. ‘How many of you only come to school so you can play sports?’ On average, an overwhelming 75% of the students raise their hands.
This proves that sports and games are successful in motivating students of today’s digital generation, especially at-risk and disengaged students.
Our STAR Mentors professional/collegiate athletes have overcome obstacles and experienced personal motivation and success through their involvement in sports. STAR Mentors like former NFL quarterback Tony Banks and former MLB pitcher Benj Sampson are poised to act as positive, inspiring role models for your students’ academic careers and decision-making.
